So Yesterday I officially had Jury Duty. The day all around was a complete mess. It started by sitting in rush hour traffic in downtown Albany, the rain and construction didn’t really help the madness either. After 2 detours I am finally at the place I need to be at almost 10 minutes late. I was told I could just park on State Street and walk over, so I did as so.
I wait about another 15 minutes to go through a metal detector and finally find my way inside to sit down. As soon as I sit down I am now told I will be here all day. I thought this would take a few hours at most to decide the Jury. After about an hour I am led up to the court room where I sit and listen to a judge repeat the same nonsense over and over. So I now begin to nod off to “Anthony’s Dream land.”
I hear the judge say something about a lunch break and I snap out of it. I wander out to my car and notice that I have a parking ticket. So I walk back in to the Albany Judicial Court building and they say to park in the Crowne Royal Parking lot. I would then recieve a ticket, which will be stamped, so I don’t have to pay. So again I do as I am told and ended up having the pay the $6 anyways.
Luckily I was able to leave court at around 3, in which I came home and crashed until about midnight. All in all, it wasn’t really a pleasant experience. It’s a good thing that I wasn’t picked to be on the Jury!
